There were a few things I saw at NAB that caught my eye and I'll try, in the next few days, to comment on them.

For some years now Dedolight has been well known for making ingeniously designed and well constructed little lighting units.

Their little DLH4 units (all of their Classic Series) look like toys.  All I can say is that, on my sets, they never spent much time in their cases, no matter how many larger, more powerful units I have burning on the set.  The LTM Pepper developed a loyal, I would say passionate, following.  I’ve never been able to figure out why.  The Dedo units are brilliant little lights and superior to the Peppers in every way, optically, mechanically, electrically, no matter how you look at it.  If you think about it, the Dedolight has been concentrated much of its efforts on hard lights.  Dedo Weigert took me around his booth and showed me the things they have been working on lately.  Dedolight has been concentrating on soft lights with a beautifully designed series of units.  One of the more interesting things he showed me was a tungsten balanced hmi softlight which is just amazing.
